Greening Government Conference 2008
Our site is devoted to providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences toward helping public agencies incorporate sustainable and environmentally conscious practices into the business of government.
Constituents across all jurisdictions are increasingly calling for green and sustainable practices in their local governments as the carbon footprint of society becomes increasingly measurable. Government agencies face the challenge of responding to these calls while responsibly managing the limited resources they have and navigating what can be incompatible political pressures.
GreeningGovernment.org is committed to providing officials, managers, staff and citizens a forum in which to cooperatively look at systems available to advance green practices, establish appropriate and meaningful benchmarks, evaluate results, and accurately report on successes and ongoing challenges.
Greening Government also provides a forum for government practitioners to discuss real short- and long-term challenges to incorporating green practices into the business of government while managing shifting resources and competing priorities.
